Terrible: Tom Ikimi Quits APC.

The problems that triggered his move started in June over the national convention issue, Thisday recalls. The former Minister of Foreign Affairs Ikimi breated APC’s first convention held in Abuja.

He refused to show up at the event accusing the party Governors Forum AGF and Lagos ex-governor Bola Tinubu of having decided on the outcome in advance. He insisted “the party was now run as a private property”.

Soon the news started making rounds that Borno ex-governor Ali Modu Sheriff, so as other aggrieved party leaders, were set to dump the APC. He insisted that he and his associates Kashim Imam, Umar Duhu and Tom Ikimiwere victimized expressing his dissatisfaction over the newly appointed party officials.

In the today’s statement Ikimi said his final word on the issue:

“I have made the decision to withdraw my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) from today.”
