Terrible: JTF Clears Terrorist Camp and 17 were Killed

The troops were said to have cleared the terrorists camp in Buduram, north of Doron Baga in Borno state.

A statement posted on the Defence Headquarters website: www.defenceinfo.mil.ng, on Saturday said the troops raided the camp where the terrorists were regrouping and reorganising to carry out a reprisal attack after being routed in Doron Baga in a previous encounter last Sunday, Aug.10.

Some of the terrorists who managed to escape into neighbouring islands in the Lake Chad Peninsula are still being pursued.

According to the statement, calm has been restored in Doron Baga after the Sunday attack by the terrorists who infiltrated the community with some of them disguising as women in hijab and many of the inhabitants of the community who fled into nearby bushes for safety are now returning.

Reports surfaced on Thursday, August 14, that Boko Haram abducted about 100 young men from Doron Baga, in the Kukawa area of Borno state near the border with Chad, on August 10.

Fresh reports however indicate that Chadian troops have rescued most of the 100 people kidnapped after a successful military operation against the sect.
