Sources close to the party revealed to Vanguard that the party may pick a prominent member from the South East as its chairman while the office of Secretary may go to the North central zone.

The APC was formed in February 2013 by Nigeria’s four biggest opposition parties – the Action Congress of Nigeria 9ACN), the Congress fpr Progressive Change (CPC),  the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to take on the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

They have been clashing with PDP since their inception. On Monday, 18 August, 2014, four people allegedly lost their lives during a clash between supporters of the APC, and the PDP in Daddere town of Obi local government area in Nasarawa State.
