BEWARE: DSS, NOT CURRENTLY RECRUITING

The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the public that it is not currently carrying out any recruitment exercise.  This clarification has become necessary in view of desperate efforts by fraudsters to scam unsuspecting job seekers or their sponsors.

The public should note that recruitment into the Service is never done on monetary basis.  Instead, it is guided by merit and transparency. Beneficiaries undergo series of screening and vetting processes and procedures through which only the best, produced by these, is taken.

In the context of this, members of the public should be mindful of attempts by fraudulent persons and /groups to fleece them of their hard earned money.  They should rather report to the Service any suspicion in this regard.

Application online: New Career Job at Npower

N-Power is a job creation and empowerment programme of the National Social Investment Programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The N-Power programme is for young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35.
Nigeria has the benefit of a young population that can catalyse a productive economy. Although current youth unemployment realities appear arduous, the scale presentsan underlying opportunity. Tapping Nigeria’s youthful demographic edge through largescale and appropriate skills development improves the prospects of economic growth and social inclusion.  Large-scale skills development,an imminent social and economic imperative, lies at the heart of the Federal Government’s 2017-2020 development plan- the Nigeria Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (NERGP). The NERGP identifies and prioritises thelarge-scaledevelopment of relevant skills for young citizens as a key driver of job creation and economic growth. By this investment through the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), the Federal Government is playing a crucial role in bolstering the human capital of the nation’s workforce.
The Federal Government’s aggressive investment in youth development also targets some of the perennial inadequacies in public services- low teacher to pupil ratio in public primary schools; high rate of preventable diseases; lack of science and knowledge to bolster agriculture production; and a lack of enough taxable persons within the tax net. In introducing N-Power, the Federal Government provides a structure not only for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development; but also utilising a large volunteer workforce to fix some of the problems in public services and stimulating the larger economy.
In addition, N-Power is also a tool for diversifying the economy. Particularly, N-Power Agro provides not only the means to apply knowledge and science to our farming practices, but also to gather data for effective planning. With the Non-Graduate category (N-Power Knowledge and N-Power Build), young Nigerians are trained to build a knowledge economy equipped with world-class skills and certification to become relevant in the domestic and global markets. N-Power also focuses on providing our non-graduates with relevant technical and business skills that enhance their work outlook and livelihood.
