Almost everyone has a Bank Account with the aim of keeping their money safe, but the rate at which Cybercrime is Increasing, has made most people afraid of keeping their money in the Bank due to the fear of Hackers gaining Access to their Account. If you are having account with any of the Nigerian Banks there are some things you can do to protect your Bank account from those Hackers.

1. Avoid Giving your ATM card to unknown or Untrusted people.

The ATM CARD allows access your Bank account as it contains virtual information, which means if it gets to the wrong hands, they may use it to Access your Bank account thereby stealing your Money.

2. Be careful with Websites you input your Credit Card details

shopping online has become widely accepted, just as we make payments online we should be careful as not all website are real and trusted, always check for website security before putting your card details, as hackers do access those website database to steal Users Card details.

3. Keep your ATM pin private

never disclose your pin to anyone, as we can’t trust people, incase of emergency, share your pin with people you trust only.

4. Change Pin periodically

it is advisable to change your ATM pin frequently incase if someone knows the previous pin it will help Protect your account from them.

5. use different pin for ATM and USSD BANKING

for safety purpose keep your USSD banking pin different from your ATM pin, People may easily have access to your phone than your ATM card, which means if they have your ATM pin they can perform Transaction right from your phone.

6. Check Account statement periodically

always check your Transactions periodically as an unknown Transaction may have occurred by someone without your concept.

7. Avoid using weak pin.

it is common how people use their Date of Birth as Pin which is known by friends, this give them the ability to guess your password easily. also avoid using numbers frequently used known by Friends.

8. Know who you share your Account Number with

it is Common how people drop their Account Number on giveaway post or share it online. we should be careful.

9. Keep your BVN NUMBER safe.

lastly our BVN number is very important, we should never disclose it on the Internet or share it with People.
